With a career spanning over a decade and an unhealthy obsession when it comes to all things regarding Dance music there is no question William Daniel is one of Scotland’s leading lights when it comes to Electronic dance music.
Starting his career in the legendary 23rd Precinct music store at the tender age of 15 years old William developed an unprecedented knowledge of Dance music in all its many forms ranging from Deep House, Disco, Tribal, Progressive, Trance, Commercial, Hard Dance and Hardcore. William’s main passion was in Trance and Techno music and it was through 23rd Precinct that he was the Trance and Techno buyer for the store for many years building up a remarkable relationship with DJ’s and labels the world over and was supply many DJ’s all over the world with the latest unreleased releases back in the days when Vinyl was the primary medium for DJ’s.
William has also held a residency at one of Scotland’s leading nights >>Inside Out* for over a decade at the best venue in Scotland The Arches. He has also turned his hand at Promoting and ran a successful night called Refresh for over 5 years which was the first night to bring Sander Van Doorn to The UK.
On the DJing front William has played at various high profile gigs including The Radio 1 Essential Mix Tour (Arches, Glasgow), Colours fest 2010 Main Arena, Park life Festival (Strathclyde Park Motherwell), Kidd stock Festival 3 times (Durham), Tiesto In Concert (Royal Highland Showground Edinburgh), was the youngest DJ to spin at Tiesto in Concert (SECC) , Gods kitchen, Gatecrasher, Promise, EH1, Fantasylands, Goodgreef, Fire It Up as well as playing at many smaller gigs over the years.
William has also played alongside every major DJ ranging from Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Carl Cox, Ferry Corsten, Gareth Emery, Sander Van Doorn, Armin Van Buuren, John O Callaghan, Above & Beyond, Hardwell, Marcel Woods just to name a few.
William is also a keen writing and works closely with leading global music magazine Tillate. For the past 4 years he has being doing the monthly trance and techno reviews and features the freshest releases from those Genres. On the charity front he also plays at the Tillate Xmas party which is aid of York hill’s Children’s Foundation (YCF) and this event raises money for a very worthwhile cause. William Says – ‘The York hill Children’s Foundation is a charity which is very close to my heart and it means so much that we are able to raise money for this extremely deserving cause and give something back through music’
William is no stranger in the studio either and has had releases on world class labels such as Reset, Spinnin’, Armada, Vandit, Borderline and many more and his productions are also playlisted by many of the world’s top DJ’s and are repeatedly featured on BBC Radio 1, Radio 1′s Essential Mix and also Armin Van Buuren’s A State Of Trance plus many more then there is no question that William is repeatedly quoted as ‘One of Scotland’s most popular DJ’s and Producers’
